Inspired Therapist

Sep 6, 2024

I have had the pleasure of working for The Uncommon Thread for 2.5 years now, and I can confidently say that it is one of the most rewarding experiences of my professional life.

The company’s commitment to improving the lives of individuals with autism is truly inspiring. TUT also places a high value on professional development and growth. There are ample opportunities for continuing education, training, and career advancement. This has allowed me to grow personally and professionally, and I am part of a team that truly cares about my success. It’s clear that the company values its employees and is dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of its clients. I highly recommend this company to anyone looking to make a difference in the lives of others. ~ ABA Therapist

We feel like we gained a new member to our family

We feel like we gained a new member to our family

Jul 3, 2024

Tomorrow marks our last day with our first TUT ABA Therapist and to say that we are going to miss her would be an understatement.

Navigating an Autism diagnosis and all the trials and tribulations that come along with it can be difficult, to say the least. Being blessed with a therapist who is not only knowledgeable about the process but who also has an instant connection with your child is more than we could have hoped for. The transition from 1 -2 hours of therapy per week to 25 hours+ was seamless. Our therapist blended into our family and our routines as if she had always been there. We owe so much of our son’s progress to her hard work and dedication to the job. Though we may be losing her as a therapist, we truly feel like we have gained a new member to our family. Her next kiddo is going to be one lucky little boy or girl.

Positive Feedback from Worrywell Collective following Lunch & Learn

Positive Feedback from Worrywell Collective following Lunch & Learn

May 24, 2024

We’ve already had such positive feedback from our staff after today’s lunch and learn. Some of them had to leave early due to other sessions/meetings, but they all reached out to me and said they wished they could’ve stayed longer. Some of the therapists took such extensive notes, as they truly found today’s presentation so beneficial. Thank you and your team so very much. We’re happy to have this connection and referral source!

“Teamwork Makes the Dream Work”

“Teamwork Makes the Dream Work”

Apr 24, 2024

We are grateful for each member of the TUT team that worked with our son throughout his journey, Danielle, Christian and Chelsea at ELM Street and more recently with Erin and Nicole at his preschool.

Each Trained Behavior Technician and BCBA was great to work with and brought exactly what our son needed at the right time. I believe this is one of the reasons he progressed so quickly. For us, the parent training sessions were extremely beneficial as well, and we’ll carry the take-aways with us always.

As parents we consistently try to provide an environment where our son can thrive. Having a team of experts working alongside and teaching us has helped us to be able to do this in ways we would not have been able to otherwise. I often say, “Teamwork Makes the Dream Work”, and it is very true in this case as well.

Warm Regards,
Mom

Mom Thankful for Daughter’s Progress

Mom Thankful for Daughter’s Progress

Apr 24, 2024

Our daughter’s progress has been amazing to watch, and I think we selected the best to help her achieve it.

One of the challenges that our daughter overcame was the ability to better express her wants and needs. She learned to brush her teeth independently thanks to the step-by-step breakdown that TUT provided. This ABA method, breaking down an activity, is one of the things that made an impact in our family as we learned a new way to teach our daughter.

What stood out about TUT for me is the dedication to teach us about ABA. The parent training was really an essential part to help us successfully tackle a goal. Also, I really appreciate all the activities and field trips that were scheduled for the kids. This was very important for us at the time that our daughter wasn’t attending school yet. The therapist and BCBA would always be there to answer all our qustions and honor our requests. Thank you so much for your support!

Welcome Keri Cogdill to Our Administrative Team as Our HR Recruitment Coordinator!

Welcome Keri Cogdill to Our Administrative Team as Our HR Recruitment Coordinator!

Apr 20, 2023

TUT would like to welcome Keri Cogdill to our administrative team as our HR Recruitment Coordinator!  Keri has earned her bachelor’s degree at Rutgers University and earned her Master’s of Science degree in HR and Labor Relations from the New York Institute of Technology.  Keri acquired 12 years of HR management at Sesame Workshop before transitioning into education.  Keri desired to have more of a direct impact on children, so she became a preschool teacher.  Keri moved into ABA school districts from 2016 to 2023 before joining us at TUT.  She says her new job here will give her the ability to combine both of her passions (ABA and HR).  Keri lives in Cranford with her husband and two sons.

In Keri’s role at TUT as HR Recruitment Coordinator, she will identify and recruit qualified candidates through job sites, social media, and outbound marketing campaigns.  She will create interest and educate applicants about TUT and will set up interviews with the management team.  Welcome Keri!

Congratulations to Colleen Johnson who has been promoted to In-Home Director of Case Management!

Congratulations to Colleen Johnson who has been promoted to In-Home Director of Case Management!

Mar 22, 2023

Colleen’s new position as Director of In-Home Case Management will entail oversight of TUT’s BCBA team by safeguarding the implementation and follow through of our ABA best practices. This increased level of attention and management will certainly ensure the best outcomes for the children in our care. Colleen joined the administrative team at TUT in 2015. She quickly became involved in many facets of TUT’s day to day administrative and clinical operations, and in 2017, was promoted to Case Manager.  For the last several years, Colleen has been an integral part of the overall success of TUT’s in-home operations.

Just as she has in all her roles at TUT, we expect Colleen to flourish in her new position and make a tremendous impact on TUT and the families we serve.

Amanda has been a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst since 2017 and has over 15 years of experience in the field of ABA. Amanda has a B.A. in Psychology from Pace University and an M.S.Ed in Special and General Education through Touro College. In Amanda’s new role as Clinical Director, she will have many important areas of responsibility. Congratulations to Jessica Fredericks Malone on her promotion to Assistant Clinical Director!

Congratulations to Jessica Fredericks Malone on her promotion to Assistant Clinical Director!

Oct 1, 2022

In Jessica’s new role, she will mentor and support new BCBAs across the core areas of TUT that are integral to developing strong BCBAs.  Jessica will orientate new BCBAs to TUT’s Way of Life including our Clinical ABA Best Practices, Rethink Clinical platform, and Rethink’s Practice Management platform. She will act as a sounding board for an interim period on clinical set up, assessments, and collaborate on supporting children.  Jessica will identify and assist in professional development opportunities for new BCBAs and ensure they are receiving the clinical support needed to provide high-quality case oversight to our therapists, clients, and families.

Jessica earned her BA in psychology from The College of New Jersey and a master’s degree in ABA from Georgian Court University. She completed her supervision as a teacher’s assistant and then transitioned into a BCBA role at a private school for children with autism.  Jessica, a BCBA since 2015, joined TUT seven years ago as an in-home BCBA.  She transitioned to a center BCBA and was promoted to Senior BCBA in TUT’s Bridges Classroom in 2021. With Jessica’s proven abilities and lengthy experience at TUT, she will most certainly have a positive effect on our new BCBAs as well as the children and families we support.
