Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is the most effective and only proven treatment for autism. The Uncommon Thread (TUT) is a non-profit organization committed to advancing the lives of New Jersey children diagnosed with autism. Our mission is to help our clients reach their greatest potential by providing comprehensive ABA therapy and services. We offer these services in many therapeutic settings which include: In home, in center, in private preschools, in school districts, camps, and in daycares.
Education and collaboration are key components to successfully treating children with autism
The Uncommon Thread partners with dozens of hospitals and practices to collaborate, educate and of course, provide needed ABA therapy to patients. Together and through these relationships we are improving the outcomes of children diagnosed with autism.
Autism is currently the leading form of childhood developmental disorders and NJ has the highest rate nationally with 1 in 34 children affected. Research shows that most children are not diagnosed until 3 ½ years old however, early intervention and specifically ABA therapy is proven to be most effective between 18 months to 4 years old. It’s clear that an early diagnosis as well as an early treatment plan is critical to the success of a child with autism.
